Amanda Guazzo Camenzuli joined Alliance in 2017 and in this time, she has built an enviable reputation for herself as a hard-working and very dedicated property advisor.
Based at the Alliance branch in San Gwann, Amanda specialises mostly in properties located in central areas, but she works all around Malta and her real passion lies in character homes, more than modern builds. “I myself live in a house of character in Mosta, so I truly love this kind of property and recommend it to anyone looking to create a comfortable home”, she states proudly.
“Yes of course some old properties require much more work than others, especially if you have exposed limestone walls that produce a lot of dust; but living in this kind of home is a passion which you either love or hate and today there are many technical solutions for everything”, she explains. There is always going to be a finite supply of traditional Maltese character homes, so the return on investment potential is bound to remain more positive in the longer term, and apart from their charm, this is another reason why Amanda often suggests this type of property to her clients.
Amanda is married to Joseph and is a proud mum of two children, Nathan aged 17 and Matthias aged 11. Growing up she practiced gymnastics and athletics competitively and although she is no longer involved in that, she still carries with her the competitive spirit she got from it so many years ago. “I think you never stop being a sportsperson at heart, and although I am very motivated and naturally competitive, sportsmanship and fairness are traits that are very important to me”, she claims. Nowadays, with her work and family commitments taking up so much of her time, even Crossfit and gym training have become hard to keep up with, so she is happy to practice yoga at home, or go out for a jog or a long walk with her dog Marley.
Asked about her most memorable experience as a property advisor, Amanda relates the story of large house she had sold to a young couple with children who had sold their own property and were looking for a house with a garden. “It turned out that the house they fell in love with was caught up in an inheritance dispute between five siblings. With different lawyers and five parties to be contented, this dragged on for more than a year. My buyers waited patiently for the house to be released and finally after so much stress for everyone and hours on hours of meetings with layers, we finally managed to close the deal to everyone’s satisfaction”, she explained. Amanda learnt a great deal from this experience, especially about patience, perseverance and persuasion skills, that are not always about closing a sale. “Working in real estate is all about dealing with people from all walks of life. I really enjoy meeting and getting to know people and helping my clients is the most rewarding experience to keep me motivated”, she concludes.
