Amanda Mifsud started working in real estate some 11 years ago, firstly as an office administrator and then switching her role to work directly with clients as a property advisor. “I’m a very enthusiastic people person and enjoy being out there meeting people from all walks of life. This is why I’ve never for a minute, regretted moving from clerical work to property sales”, she explains with her infectious grin. Apart from the social side of her job, Amanda is very happy with the flexible hours and enjoys watching the expressions of her clients when she is showing them around their future home. “To me, this is what makes our job so rewarding”, she explains.
Based at Alliance Strand branch in Gzira, Amanda is passionate about working on properties in the south of Malta, however she does not limit herself to any specific area or type of property and deals with clients looking for any kind of real estate in any part of the island.
Like many other estate agents Amanda’s most memorable experience was her first sale. “After the first two weeks since finishing my induction course and actually being out there finding my own way in the field, I had received a phone call from a prospective client about a property which I was advertising on social media. So, after I took them out on three viewings, they left telling me they will be thinking about what I had shown them that day.”. So far, nothing is extraordinarily memorable about that, so she continues, “In the next few hours as I was still glowing from the excitement of this first experience, they call me back and their feedback was to put an offer on the second place I had shown them that day. Since my manager was away at that time, and it was my first deal, at first I hesitated but then I contacted the owners and finally managed to close my first deal all by myself and we signed the promise of sale a few days after.” Whilst this story reads like a textbook case of estate agent success, it is not uncommon to find clients who are very determined about what they want. Amanda, actually advises her clients to stick to one agent they can trust to save time and avoid seeing the same properties with different agents. She also suggests “to be prepared about your budgets, be honest and be clear about your wants and needs.”
For Amanda, spending quality time with her family is always her number one priority. She works out two to three times a week when possible, as she finds this very helpful to de-stress, keep herself motivated and healthy. “I also love travelling, however due to the pandemic I’ve had to be set on hold for the time being”, she laments.
