With more than 35 years of hands-on experience in Malta’s real estate industry, Roberta Anastasi is one of the most senior property advisors at Alliance. “Since I started out in 1985, I have seen the property market go through various peaks and troughs, reaching new heights in booms and stabilizing back in more challenging times, but rarely going down significantly. By now, I can safely say that nothing really fazes me so much anymore, not even Covid”, she states with a confident smile. “By now I am more than convinced that real estate is by far the very best option for people investing here.”

Based at the Alliance branch in Swieqi, Roberta specialises in Sliema, St.Julians, Swieqi, Tal-Ibragg, Madliena, Bahar ic-Caghaq, Balzan, Lija, Attard, Mosta, Siggiewi and Santa Maria Estate. She explains how she was brought up in Gozo and then her family moved to St. Julians, ”this is my home and I know these areas very well, so I am more confident advising buyers and sellers in these areas”, she concludes.

Asked about her most memorable experience, Roberta recounts the event of one particular day a few years ago. “I had this lovely foreign couple who came to Malta not knowing what they were looking for and I had one day to show them a variety of properties falling within their budget. I had lined up a selection of villas and penthouses, so you can imagine what a packed day it was.”, she continues. “My clients decided to put an offer on one of the properties we had seen, but we were miles apart. Then with a little bit of patience and perseverance, I managed to close the deal and get the best possible price for both the vendors and the purchasers, all in that one, very eventful day.”
Like most property advisors, Roberta finds great satisfaction from helping her clients find their ideal property, and is proud of the fact that her clients often become her friends, who refer back to her whenever they need to re-sell or buy again. She continues “I also love the flexibility of my job, although sometimes I compare myself to a ‘doctor on call’, since most viewings and deals are often concluded on weekends or public holidays.”
To avoid disappointments for her clients, Roberta suggests that buyers should always consult different banks to see what they can afford before they even start looking at properties. For the property owners, Roberta’s advice is to make an extra effort to present their property clean, tidy and as bright as possible for viewings, as it makes such a big difference.

Roberta is a proud mother of four – Alexia, aged 28 is a senior IT analyst, Francesca, aged 26 is a practicing lawyer and her twins Carla and John, aged 18 have just started attending University. In her free time, she enjoys travelling, reading, interior design and cooking for her large family.
